Photo Gallery: Doorways

I am obsessed with photographs of old doorways. There's something magical about each one and I can't help but wonder who has traveled through these doors, what they lead to and how long have they been standing...not to mention, the beautiful bold colors, intricate designs, vintage hardware and architectural detail! I'd love to create an art gallery in my apartment with every one of these photographs, using different frames and different colored mats.

Each photograph was taken in a different country...Greece, London, Mexico, France, Ireland, Guatemala, Spain and China, to name a few! All images from Art.com. Click here to see more fantastic doorways from around the world.

Gorgeous photos. They make me wish people were more adventurous with paint here.

  6. What a beautiful post! I too have always loved doorways. I particularly like the tall doorways in Europe that can be opened to allow a car into the courtyard of a building or kept closed with just a little person-sized door cut into it.
