Christmas Dinner Party Ideas

My husband and I are hosting our 5th annual Christmas Dinner Party on Saturday for 18 people. Every year, we pack our closest family and friends into our apartment for an intimate sit-down dinner. I LOVE entertaining and look forward to hosting this party every year - it's become our tradition. I'm still contemplating on the table settings, centerpieces and color scheme...

I found these photos during my search for inspiration and love something different about every one of them! Are you entertaining this holiday season? If so, what's your plan of action for the decor and color scheme?

  9. wow! you're a brave soul! 18 people!

i love those little cardinal name tags in the second to the last picture!

we have been thinking of having a sixties-themed party for New Years. not really a dinner party, so i'm not sure that any of these ideas would work.

but, i like the green ornaments in the white vintage-looking oval bowl. i think something like that that would work well for the sixties theme.

i hope your party is fun! if you entertain anything like your blog, then i'm sure it will be fantastic!

  13. I LOVE that green and brown! How unique! One easy thing that I do with my decor around the holidays, is changing out my huricanes (which usually have wine corks and a candle) to tiny ornaments that match my tree color scheme, and then the candle. It's inexepensive but super festive. Just thought I'd share! I love using ornaments for decorating, so you could probably get creative and use them for place settings or center pieces. PLUS, when pairing with a candle, the light will reflect off the ornaments. :-)))

  14. I can't believe you're hosting EIGHTEEN for dinner! You're a stronger person than I am...

My fave is the red and white striped setting in the third image. It's festive but still graphic and clean.

  15. I am hosting my 5th Annaul Girls Christmas Party this weekend and I am excited. I have a guest list of 25 girls.

I love the use of cranberries,so this year I plan to have a couple of vases with cranberries and candles. I will also be using large white snowflakes for ceiling decor. I am sticking with silvers & reds as my main colors..

Have fun with your party and be sure to share pics. HAPPY PLANNING!!!
