Inspiration Snapshot: Hello Yellow!

I've always liked the color yellow used as an accent to liven up a space - a little goes a long way. Before I spotted this photo, I would never even consider painting walls yellow in a space, let alone use a yellow loveseat, cushion and accent table! But for some reason, it totally works in this space! A few reasons why: the yellow paint color is more on the muted side - you don't feel the need to put on sunglasses when looking at it; the white antler chandelier and curtain balance all of the color; the black & white cowhide rug anchors everything by bringing your eye down toward the floor and adds contrast; the red animal print pillows add just enough contrast to compliment the yellow without being too overwhelming. Overall, I think this space is chic and fabulous. What do you think?

  4. I normally wouldn't go for as bright a yellow but the black in the rug and red in the pillows helps to tone it down somehow. pretty!

  9. I love yellow too! I picked a warm buttery color for my living room because I just can't live without something that reminds me of the sun. Great inspiration!
