Have you seen the work of interior designer, Palmer Weiss? There's been a buzz around the blogosphere about this talented San Francisco-based designer and after taking a peek at her portfolio, you can see why! Enjoy looking through some of her gorgeous work and click here to view her entire portfolio. *** I wish you all a wonderful weekend! I'll be getting ready to head out to Vegas for the Las Vegas Market - a huge design trade show event - from Sunday to Wednesday. I recently attended the California Gift Show in LA but didn't see anything exciting enough to share with you. I have a feeling Vegas will be full of inspiration and exciting new things and I can't wait to report back! I'll be scheduling regular blog posts next week so be sure to visit again. xoxo - Julie

On Trend: Chain Link

According to my new Home Accents Today magazine, the trend "linked in" is what's hot and in style in the world of design and fashion! I decided to hunt down some of the best pieces I could find to represent this style. I don't know about you, but I'm really liking this edgy little twist on design. I think my favorite pieces in this post are the Arte Italica serving pieces and the chain link mirror - to die for! What do you think about this trend? Have you seen any other chain-link inspired designs?

Mix it up with Dining Room Seating

Gone are the days of "matchy-matchy" furniture groupings in any room... living rooms, bedrooms, etc. You definitely don't want the furniture in your space to look like it came straight off the showroom floor as a complete set. It's much more interesting when pieces are mixed together in different finishes and styles. However, when it comes to the dining room, I think most of us tend to go with what's "safe" and end up purchasing the complete dining set, which usually consists of a table with 6 - 8 matching chairs (and maybe a matching buffet). I've been noticing more and more the use of chunky upholstered chairs or settees mixed with lighter-scale side chairs, a trend I absolutely adore! It's inspired me to really think outside the box when designing for clients. I've gathered together some great examples on how playing with different chair styles can make all the difference in a dining room. How do you feel about incorporating larger upholstered pieces in the dining room? Do you like the look of mixing different sizes and/or styles together? Please share!
