Pantone 2011 Color of the Year...

Some of you may have already heard the news buzzing around the blogosphere, but Pantone has named their 2011 color of the year...{drumroll}...Honeysuckle! Here's what they have to say about this pretty hue: "Courageous. Confident. Vital. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. While the 2010 color of the year, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life." We'll be seeing much more of this color popping up in fashion, home decor and decorative packaging. This upbeat and color looks great in the dining room, serving as an appetite and conversation stimulant (which explains why so many of the images I found of pink interiors  are of dining rooms!). It can add a feminine and whimsy touch to a bedroom and liven up a neutral space when used in small doses, such as an accent pillow or piece of art. As you'll see in this post, there are many ways to incorporate Honeysuckle pink into the home while keeping the overall look sophisticated and classy and not too feminine or "girly." What do you think about this color? Would you rather incorporate it into your wardrobe or do you like it used in interiors?

  7. Hi Julie,

Love the post! Thanks so much for the mention...Over at GetGoingGirl! we can't seem to get enough of pink right now...Check out our latest posts on pink chairs and waking up to pink.

Rachel, maybe you could get your husband to compromise and let you enjoy just a touch of pink in the bedroom maybe a small slipper chair or toss pillows in a subtle hue...

    Thanks,
    Joanna
