Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Pretty in Pink

We've all been affected by breast cancer in one way or another - whether it's you, a close family member or friend or even an acquaintance, we all know someone (or like in my case, several people) who has fought breast cancer and either survived it or passed away from it. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and as you know, the color pink represents this incredible cause, so I thought it would be fun to do a post all about pretty pink spaces. I have a girlfriend who was diagnosed at the age of 28, but only after she pushed her doctor for months to take her concern of a small lump seriously. She had to be incredibly persistent to finally get the diagnosis. Had she listened to the doctor and ignored the symptoms, she would no longer be with us today. Do your part to keep yourself healthy and checked on a regular basis! And be sure to remind your fellow sisters to do so as well. Please feel free to share your story, thoughts or any other helpful tips and/or resources on this very important topic! Some great websites about Breast Cancer: Susan G. Komen; BreastCancer.org;  Have an amazing weekend :) xoxo - Julie

  4. i've followed your blog for a while and, like all of your posts, you've taken an elegant approach to this serious topic. i'm obsessed with decorating (albeit a complete novice) and work in a creative field...i also recently underwent a bilateral mastectomy. unfortunately, this disease touches so many more lives than most people realize. but thankfully, we are also more than just this disease and so many thanks for all the inspiration.

  5. I love decorating with the color pink, in fact a lot of my bedroom is full of that dusty light pink tone but I feel like it brings an old-lady thing to the whole room. basically I decorate like an old lady haha.
