The Greek Key pattern is one I will never grow tired of! It's right up there with my obsession for the chevron (or zig zag) pattern. I did a little research on the history of this pattern and here's what I found..."The Greek Key pattern is known by many names, some of which include: Greek Fret, Greek Key, Labyrinth, Maze and Key Patterns. The pattern originates from Greek mythology and is symbolic of the labyrinth that imprisoned the Minotaur, which was described as a creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man." I found that to be quite interesting! We've seen this bold geometric pattern used throughout history in jewelry, clothing, furniture, etc. It's proven to be a classic and timeless pattern that's versatile enough to be used in both traditional and modern interiors, and everything in between. What do you think of the Greek Key pattern? How would you incorporate it into your decor? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

My Latest Obsession: Chevron Patterns
I'm typing up this blog post at 1:00 in the morning...I must be crazy! My husband and I have been packing and getting ready for our trip to Vegas for the weekend. Trying to get everything squared away before we leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow...or I guess I should say, today! Anyway, a quick post on my latest obsession with Chevron patterns. We've all seen this pattern in the world of design over the years - in rugs, on pillows, wallpaper, etc. but lately I just can't get enough of it! Now all I can think about is getting a chevron area rug for our living room - I think it would be the perfect accent to anchor the room and tie everything together. And I love the crazy yellow and white room below...it's so over-the-top but in a fabulous, fun kind of way. What patterns are you drawn to?
Well, I'm signing off early to relax and (hopefully) win some money in Vegas! I wish you all a happy, safe and fun 4th of July holiday weekend! Cheers! xoxo - Julie

My Obsession of the Week: Raw Organic Wood
This is the first post of something new I'm going to do every Monday: My Obsession of the Week. This week I chose a collection of raw, organic wood items. Every piece is made from either reclaimed wood, discarded trunks and roots of Chinese fir trees or completely renewable wood sources. I love the natural textures and shapes of the wooden bowls which are perfect for displaying fresh fruit or as a beautiful planter for a centerpiece. The glass domes set on hand-crafted bases are made from slices of sheesham wood (a completely renewable wood source) and are a great way to display items you love. Other items shown: Entwined Root Wall Mirror; Eyelet Stool; Entwined Root Bookcase; Organic Trunk Vases; Wine Barrel Stave Bread Bowl.
