I'm always looking for different ways to change up the "usual" way most of us decorate a room...for instance - nightstands in the bedroom. The typical bedroom usually has two matching nightstands, with two table lamps, flanking a bed. I searched high and low for inspiration photos on how to mix it up - here's what I found...

This one is a bit difficult to see, but the nightstand is actually mounted to the wall with a swing arm lamp.

I love the large vases filled with coral and sand, as well as the crystal chandeliers that add a touch of glam.

A simple long white shelf mounted over the bed is a great way to create a nightstand without having to actually use a piece of furniture - great for tight spaces.

Thick built-in floating shelves - very zen modern.

How about designing an entire floor-to-ceiling built-in around your bed?! Great way to maximize your space!

This industrial looking cabinet looks great with the mechanical-like lamp. The upholstered headboard and bedding soften the metal accents - I love this combination!
What other creative ways are there to design "outside the box" with bedroom nightstands?
I love the last picture! So adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing nightstand ideas - these are really, really great ones too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these images! Especially that little shelf spanning the width of the bed--a great idea! Right now we have a chair next to the bed instead of a nightstand, but it's more due to the fact that we have no more room for all the stray chairs I keep bringing home, so they've been repurposed in other ways!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so dreamy!! I so want a bedroom makeover!!
ReplyDeleteone of my favs is the last photo. i can't get enough of an industrial, worn look and it immediately screams comfortable. fun post!
ReplyDeleteAwesome "floating" shelves. I have used wicker and iron plant stands in the past because of lack of room and because they matched the decor. I think as long as it fits and fulfills its purpose, almost anything can be used, even an overturned barrel or a stack of boxes.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many in this selection that I love! More inspiration for my bedroom :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to add this to my bookmarks--I've really been struggling to figure out how to mix this up--not that we're to the point yet of redoing the bedroom but the nightstands are definitely going to be the 1st things to go.
