Special Give Away!

belle maison just celebrated it's 1 year anniversary! To express my gratitude and sincere appreciation to all of you for your continued support of my blog and comments that keep me inspired daily, I decided to do a give-away! One of you lucky winners will receive an 8 1/2" x 11" print of an original painting from one of my favorite artists, Hadley Hutton!

All you need to do is leave a comment answering this question: what would you like to see more of or learn more about regarding interior design? (where to find the best resources, bedroom ideas, organization, choosing color, etc.)...I'll randomly select a winner by drawing a number and announce the winner on Tuesday, March 24th. The winner will then get to select the print of their choice from here, valued @ $25 (there were too many to choose from! I figured I'd let you decide). Thanks again to everyone and good luck!

  1. First of all congratulations on the first anniversary , it's a grate blog! By the way I love those give away prints..
It's hard to say what I would love to see more of, as your blog is already one of my favorites.
I would say, the original designs of old that inspire the new designers of today. A bit of interior design history

  2. Oh, these are lovely! Great giveaway. I'd like to see eco friendly/redesigned/fairtrade interior decoration! There's so much cool eco friendly stuff around now; it's not just beige and olive bathtowels anymore... So if you should happen to stumble upon anything in this category, I'd love to see it! Btw, I found the loveliest butterfly wall ornaments made from recycled crockery. Looks like you've put me in a butterfly mode...
Have a great weekend Jules. Thanks for writing such a great blog!

  3. Congratulations! You have a wonderful blog :) Regarding your question I would you like to see more categorized designs, for example bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms all in one place, I mean for example if I'm looking for living room designs I will be able to find the photos all in one folder. I think that can be done in Flickr in different sets.

  5. So I just recently started reading your blog ... and I love it!! I love the inspirational total room pictures the most. However, I can put an outfit together, but heaven help me ... I can't put a room together. I would love to see you break down the room and link us to similar items that can be purchased. I know the time investment would be large ... so maybe only once in awhile.

    Thanks for the constant inspiration,

    Erin

  8. Congrats!! I don't know how often I've commented but I LOVE your blog and all of the wonderful tips! I check it every day! Something that I would love to learn more about is organizing a creative area. I craft and paint and sew and have stuff ALL over the place. I like having it easily accessible but I need a way to make it all look neat and esthetically pleasing. I hope I win!! these paintings are GORGEOUS!

  9. I heart Hadley Hutton too!

I would like to see more whole room photographs and "Design Deal" elements inspired by the room.
What magazine used to show two similar room tableaus, one with high-end budget and one low budget... Was it "Shopping"? I loved that idea and would like to see it somewhere again.
Thanks for blogging. You're on my daily read list!

  12. Those prints are so pretty!

I enjoy learning about decorating on a budget. Its always fun to see an expensive room and then a "look for less" type of thing.

  13. Wonderful prints. :)

And with the give-away being of art, I'd be keen on learn about art in interior design-- I always have so much trouble with where to position my art on the wall and all my lovely paintings are left in the closet!

  15. Congrats on the 1 year!
Its such a bummer that this economy has made such an impact on everyone but especially interior designer and retailers, but changing up a room can be so refreshing! So I really appreciate any "budget" ideas or DIY, and would love to see more!

  16. Happy happy birthday! Congratulations on your blog turning 1, it's one of my faves. I love going to antique stores and I would love to see more on using antique items in a modern setting. Maybe I won't be able to pass up on those beautiful oil lamps if I knew what to do with them!

  17. Congrats to your 1st! Well, definitely keep the quotes of the week, I love to come here Mondays and check that post out, then..., hmmm, more international (rooms, designs, artists...) would be great. I just love to peak into rooms around the globe!

  18. Happy 1st Birthday!A beautiful blog, very inspirational.
    In answer to your question...
I would love to see what goes behind a photo shoot and how they style/prepare a house for one. I am forever looking at the most stunning and beautiful homes in magazines and on blogs and often left wondering if people actually live in these pristine houses with the most stunning homewares on display... most often with kids. How do they do do it?

  21. happy anniversary!!!

this is pretty lame of me, but i would like to learn more about CAT-PROOF sofas. my cats have destroyed the last 2 with their claw sharpening. i know this is a behavioral issue, but it would be nice to have something that could stand up to them when they slip up.

  22. Happy birthday to belle maison! I would love to see more colorwork as far as color schemes and color inspiration, as well as prop styling and what goes into that!

  23. I'd love to see more about color to set a feeling in a room -- how much to use, where, use of black and white...

    Congrats on your anniversary!

  24. These are just beautiful. Congrats on one year!

This is a clever way to do giveaway entries. I guess what I'm trying to make sense of in my head is how to include important aspects of your life in the details of your home. So for me, I would want sailing, scottish, and equestrian accents, but I don't really know what form those would take or how they would work together.

  25. Here's to many more years of inspirational blogging! I, too, check out your blog on an almost daily basis and am in love with the quotes and how you artfully choose images to go with it. I would love to see how to integrate modern with antique/vintage. Thank you for the giveaway. I've my fingers crossed. (r8ermom)

  26. Happy Blogday!!

I'd like to see how to decorate small roooms, and how to use colors to decorate a space.

  27. I absolutely LOVE your blog. Totally stunning and inspirational. When I get some free time, I love to retreat to a space where I can paint/ sketch (be it oils, acrylics, pencil etc) so any picture/ image/ advice as to how you would piece together an art room/ studio/ even corner workshop within your house that is dynamic, functional and very pizzaz-ish!!! Lots of love & congratulations!

  28. i'd like to learn everything.
but mostly about coloring and how to mix different styles in one home in a way that doesn't make it seem unrelated.

  29. How wonderful and generous! Congrats on this exciting milestone. I'd be interested in more discussion/resources of small space affordable and eco-intentional living.

  30. First of all, congratulations!
I would like to learn more about what inspiring things can be done with a blank wall in my daughters bedroom. She has a fish theme right now and a blank blue wall. I would love to know what to do other than stickers to brighten it up

  33. Congratulations on your one year anniversary!

I often check to see what you are featuring so keep up the good work!

I think for me, it would be the "back to the basics" of interior design, explaining the process of the different stages in putting a room together. For example, how to dress a room, bookshelves etc...

Great work!!! Thank you so much!

  34. Congrads on your 1st anniversary! Wow, you are impressive! You have created one of my favorite blogs. I LOVE the resource information and ongoing upcoming trend information. I'm not "in the business", just a full time mom at this point. So, by you sharing what is up and coming keeps me in the loop. Please keep sharing!

  37. Happy anniversary! I don't read many design blogs but this is definitely one of the few. I'd love to see more on *where* to find places--I know I've starred a few of your entries that have the web sites of where to find the things featured.

  38. I'm not sure if this contest is still open -- I've popped over from the link on The City Sage & am delighted to find such lovelies, and just wanted to let you know, regardless :D! In case this contest *is* still open: I've got a lot to catch up on, but I would love ideas on bedrooms or living rooms or dining rooms or bathrooms! I just like looking at gorgeous rooms, I think :D
