Kick Things Up a Notch With a Dose of Orange

If your decor needs a little pick-me-up, try adding some flare with the color orange! My apartment is centered mainly around blues and greens, but just the two colors weren't enough - something was missing. I added pops of orange with accent pillows and an accessory and what a difference! Orange looks fabulous alongside green, pink, yellow, blue, turquoise, gray...you really can't go wrong with it, especially when used in small doses. How do you feel about the color?

  10. Orange has definitely made a come back! I love a splash of orange in a space. The orange light fixture in the last room is so lovely, paired with the neutral pallete.

  15. I so agree!! I have a living room that is mostly various shades of browns, carmels, celedon greens with hints of turquoise from my McCoy Pottery collection. I have a framed art print of "Flaming June", by Lord Frederic Leighton on the mantle. The print is various shades of soft orange to an almost clemintine color. The color is so good with the others in the room that I bought a soft orange velvet to make pillows to add to the couch. It is just the right "pick me up" for the muted palate of the room.
