Quote of the Week

"Women agonize...over cancer; we take as a personal threat the lump in every friend's breast."

- Martha Weinman Lear, Heartsounds

Yesterday I attended a Luncheon & Fashion Show put on by St.Jude Medical Center called "A Walk Among the Stars." The models, aka "Stars," were all cancer survivors and among them was my dear friend Kari. I blogged about her story 1 1/2 years ago and am so proud to say that she is cancer free! Kari, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29, strutted her stuff down the runway with men and women, young and old, each with their own personal story of survival. The positive energy and joy in the room was contagious! What a wonderful reminder of how precious life is and how blessed we are to have family and friends who love and support us through it all. We all know someone who is battling breast cancer, has survived breast cancer or who has passed away from it. Please leave a comment in honor of that person (or people) by leaving their name. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so please remember to "feel your boobies" on a regular basis! Take care of yourself and spread the word to your fellow "sisters". We all need to look out for ourselves and for one another because life is too precious not to! xoxo - Julie
