Inspiration Snapshot: Vibrant Blue + Crisp White Living Room

If you read my blog, you probably know that I'm a big advocate for using color and not being afraid of it. That being said, it would take some serious courage for me to paint an entire living room a color this bold! Although it's extremely vibrant and borderline "electric", I actually really like it.  It's a fresh, cheerful shade of blue that adds energy to the space. The bright pops of white along with the neutral carpet and sofa, really help break up the intense color. The only part I'm not so crazy about it how they purposely didn't paint all the way up to the ceiling, leaving a rough, uneven border around the room. Looking at that everyday would probably drive me nuts! What do you think about this space, paint color, border, accents...?

I completely agree with you re the uneven border. I deliberately clicked on this story so I could zoom in to see if that was what was really going on. I cannot understand why they did that, it looks silly & i agree would drive me mad looking at that all the time! The colour looks great in the photo though. I wonder if it looks as smooth in real life too?

  2. I also agree about the border! I think my favorite part of this room is actually the chair in the fabulous shade of green - the room looks great, but I think the green chair helps to balance and ground the room.

  5. I love the colors, but I'm afraid I'd get tired of it real quick. It is very electric and would be fun for a while. Paint is affordable enough to change it up every so often. Ditto on the border...I get it, but it would make me batty. Ciao....

  7. I kinda love the border. A little artsy, a little random. It's not for everyone, that's for sure, but I think I could do it in an art studio or a playroom.

  9. I love the way the art work is hung just pushed off to the left. I don't mind the unfinished paint on the top. I am not a blue person but I find this colour pretty and calming like water actually the unfinished upper part of blue reminds me I rippling water.

the paint treatment at the ceiling is artful. There is humor in mimicking expensive molding, which is overdone and not needed. The room is fresh, using juxtopositioning of color, style, humor......GeorgeAnnis

  13. I'm so into this bright blue color right now! Reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw's new place in the SATC movie.

The border is agreeable for me, as long as the white paint stays clean and seems freshly new all the time. If the blue wall is just on one or two sides of the room, I find it quite chic.
