My Latest Obsession: Warm Gold Finishes

Hello and Happy Friday! Ever since I returned home from the Las Vegas Market, I can't stop thinking about all of the gold metallic accents I saw from showroom to showroom. I'm not talking about shiny or flashy gold - I'm talking about soft, matte, warm gold finishes on everything from furniture to accessories to lighting. There's something so alluring about rich gold finishes and a little really does goes a long way (like with gold jewelry). In my own home, I've been living with polished nickel finishes and dark espresso wood stains for way too long...that cool, contemporary look used to be my style, but my taste has changed a lot over the years. Now I'm craving the warmth of gold, mixed with pops of color and lots of texture. I may just have to makeover my living room this weekend...I don't know if I can take it anymore! My husband will probably roll his eyes at me, but I'm sure some of you know how it is - you get an idea in your head and at some point, you just have to make it happen. We'll see - time and money permitting...I'll keep you posted! Have a great weekend everyone :) xoxo - Julie

P.S. If you haven't already, please take a moment to enter an exciting giveaway I'm hosting this week, where you have a chance to WIN an art print from 20x200 AND a custom frame from West Elm! Click here for details. Winner will be announced on Monday.

  9. I love how adding gold touches to a room can add an instant edge. I noticed how Mary McDonald often times adds brass-like metallics to her designs. Love It!

  12. Such a gorgeous collection of images! I am trying to subtly introduce gold into my home but the problem is trying to convince my other half that it's not the same bright brassy gold of the 90's! These shots just show how glamorous old gold really can be. Love it!
