Add a Touch of Tangerine to Your World

As many of you may already know, the Pantone color of the year for 2012 is Tangerine Tango.  I'm absolutely loving this shade of orange and have been seeing it popping up in home decor and fashion. Because orange is such a warm and vibrant color, a little can go a long way when used in the home. I've rounded up several fabulous interiors that have successfully used colors similar to Tangerine Tango, along with a style board of tangerine accents you can incorporate into your own home. What do you think of this color? What other color would you pair it with in interiors and/or fashion?

Pantone describes the color in these words: “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

  2. I adore this color - the perfect accent color, in small quantities to brighten up an otherwise "too uniform" scheme!

  5. I love this color. You are so right -- it definitely warms up a space. I love the accent of a tangerine table lamp or a piece of framed tangerine artwork. Makes me happy.

  7. I'm swooning over that Trina Turk pillow. I love bold pops of tangerine (and thanks to a recent DIY project, I now have a pop on my walls!)

  10. I want to add orange, I really really do, but it doesn't mix well with the array of colors I already have going...raspberry red, greens, teal, yellow...maybe i could keep trying?! It's so cheery.
