Bloggers Conference + Trad Home

Happy Friday! What an amazing week it's been...I spent Monday and Tuesday up in LA at the first annual Design Bloggers Conference, followed by a cocktail garden party Tuesday evening, hosted by Traditional Home Magazine. The party was held in celebration of Trad Home - a brand-new online magazine created by Traditional Home and the editors of Lonny Magazine! The first issue will be published online in May and again in September of this year. I'd love to elaborate on the conference and all of the exciting ideas, tips, and opportunities I learned about, but it will have to wait until next week. I'm coming down with a cold and am not feeling so hot today - definitely not a good way to end such a great week :( Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend! I want to thank you all for visiting my blog and for your thoughtful comments. You're the reason I continue blogging, week after week, year after year! xoxo - Julie

I could kick myself for not taking any pictures of the conference! I left my camera in the car both days :( I managed to snag these snapshots from a couple other bloggers. Top left & bottom right images of Cassandra LaValle of Coco+Kelley, Grace Bonney of Design Sponge, Tracy Porter and Paloma Contrares of La Dolce Vita & Founder of High Gloss (images courtesey of I Design Love blog); Bottom Left image courtesey of Joe Ruggiero.

I did manage to snap a few pics of the adorable Almont Yard in West Hollywood, where the cocktail party was held. The fabrics are all from Trina Turk's latest collection for Schumacher. I die!!!

Design Bloggers Conference Update

Yesterday was an incredible day at the Design Bloggers Conference in LA! It was jam packed with inspiring guest speakers and industry leaders that had so much valuable information to pass along to me and about 200 other ambitious bloggers / designers / entrepreneurs! It was a long day (4 1/2 hours in traffic round trip for me...commuting from Orange County to LA during rush hour traffic in the AM & PM is a nightmare!). I came home, had 2 glasses of wine and crashed early. I had to be refreshed and ready to return for Part 2 today for more exciting guest speakers and networking opportunities. Yesterday I took about 5 full pages of notes that I can't wait to share with you :) Enjoy your day and I'll meet you back here later this week for details on what you need to know as a fellow blogger! xoxo - Julie

Quote of the Week

“Modesty is great, and quietness is nice, but sometimes it’s much more fun to be decadent.”

- Robin Standefer, Interior Designer

I hope you had a nice weekend! Today I'm attending the first part of the Design Bloggers Conference at the Sofitel Hotel in LA! This event is featuring some pretty fabulous guest speakers like Grace Bonney of Design Sponge, Cassandra LaValle of Coco+Kelley, Jan Showers, Tobi Fairley, Michelle Adams of Lonny, and many more amazing people in the design / blogging industry. I have my camera in hand, a notebook to jot down important info to report back, and my Blackberry to tweet and facebook as we go! Can't wait to share with you :) Are any of you attending? Let me know so we can meet up at some point!
