Babies on the Brain :: Adorable Nusery Decor

It must be baby season because just about every woman I know is either pregnant or just had a baby! Just in the last week alone, I have 3 friends who've had babies (one being a set of twins!), in addition to several born over the summer. Naturally this sparks something inside me to think up nursery designs, a few of which I've created for my friends. And my son Luke just turned 17 months (crazy!), so the hubby and I have decided it's time to go for baby #2. I'm a little hesitant, because one little toddler boy keeps me busier than I can sometimes keep up with, and the thought of throwing another one into the mix overwhelms me (just a tad...). However, I am looking forward to the next baby that comes along so I can design and decorate their nursery! Here are some inspiring spaces for the precious little ones. Do you know anyone having a baby (or maybe it's you)? How's the nursery design coming along?

Sweet & Stylish Nurseries

Pregnant + interior designer = nursery decor on the brain! I've been bookmarking cute nurseries and kid's rooms to refer back to when I start to decorate my little son's space in our bedroom (we don't have a nursery yet - just one bedroom for all 3 of us to share). I'm due early May so I have quite a bit of time to work on pulling the design together. Today I've rounded up several great inspiration photos for boys & girls. Do you have a baby or toddler, or maybe you're a mommy-to-be? What color scheme or theme have you gone with for your child's room? P.S. - Thank you so much to everyone who left such warm and thoughtful comments on my post yesterday announcing the big news :) I appreciate each and every one of you so very much.

Chic Nursery via Vogue

When it comes to nursery design, I'm all about thinking outside the typical "pink and blue" box. There are so many ways to create a fabulous nursery without making it too "themey", which is why I'm loving this nursery via Vouge.com. It's part of the home tour of fashion designer Laura Diego. “I tried to make it fit into the rest of the apartment while still staying girly,” says Laura of baby Georgiana’s room. “I painted it light gray, but I hung this hot-pink painting of Elizabeth Taylor by Russell Young. This room is my favorite.” I think I'd complete the room with a sweet little vintage crystal chandelier to make it all the more glamorous! Go here to read the article and see the rest of Laura and Diego Garcia's gorgeous apartment tour.
