Photo Gallery: Bicycles

I did a photo gallery post a while back about my obsession with old doorways and I feel somewhat the same about photographs of bicycles...I found all of these great images and realized that there's something very special about a bicycle photographed as art. I can't help but wonder who's been riding around on the bike, where they came from, where they're going and why they've stopped riding for the moment. To me, bicycles represent a sense of freedom - getting fresh air out in the open on a beautiful day, reminiscent of riding around until dusk as a child all summer. I don't ride bikes nearly enough as an adult! I think it's time to dust off my pink beach cruiser and take her for a spin :) Enjoy the photos; all have been taken from around the world!

Eco-Fabulous Wednesdays

I'm always on the look-out for products that are both environmentally friendly and fabulous. Here are a few of my picks for the week...
From Branch Home, the AUM Tote: Net - made from 100% reclaimed sailcloth which would otherwise be discarded. Durable, unique and fashionable :)
Biodegradable, non-toxic and hypoallergenic laundry detergent all wrapped up in a small little nugget! One nugget = one load; available in this adorable re-usable tin for 50 loads. Click here for more info.
Ditch those dryer sheets and switch to these lovely eco-friendly dryer sachets! Filled with lavender buds and made from re-claimed fabric, they can be used for up to 10 loads of laundry; after that, refresh them with lavender essential oil and continue to use or place in a dresser drawer to lightly scent. Found on Etsy by ReFabulous.

Found on Etsy from the Greenroom, the Sweet Sakura Pillow Duvet - handpainted on unbleached cotton & the Polka Dot Branches Pillow.

Trend Watch

According to Metropolitan Home, the next up-and-coming trend, called "Zoocentric," is all about animal inspired home designs.
A stainless steel Kangaroo Bowl, a resin Lion Stand and a resin Arthur Bench (not sure what animal it's inspired by??). I feel hesitant on this trend...I always try to be open to new things and love unique home accents, but if I gave my client a bowl with legs and a tail, they might second guess why they hired me...what are your thoughts on this new trend? Please share!
