Featured Artist: Georgia O'Keeffe

I am a huge fan of Georgia O'Keeffe's work. Early in her career, she quit making art because she said she could never achieve distinction working within this tradition. Good thing she picked it back up four years later because by the mid-1920's she had become recognized as one of America's most important and successful artists. Also in the early 1920's she began painting large depictions of flowers as if seen close up, which are among her best-known pictures. She lived most of her life in New Mexico which inspired much of her work as well. I love the vibrant colors and softness of her paintings. I use her work in a lot of my designs because it's timeless, beautiful and inspiring.
