Storage Challenge: Jewelry

Raise your hand if you have a difficult time storing & displaying your jewelry so that it looks decent and you can actually see what you have without having to dig around and untangle a mess of metal! I currently have my necklaces hanging from an over-the-door towel rack on the back of my bathroom door...not exactly the classiest way to display my jewels! And my earrings and rings are crammed in an old jewelry box from the 7th grade! I did a little research to see what creative storage solutions are out there and found some DIY projects as well as ready-made jewelry displays. How do you store your jewelry? Please enlighten us if you have tips or any other creative ideas!

a) angel earring stand from lunares home; b) aluminum jewelry tree via uncommon goods; c) manzanita jewelry tree from lunares home.

d) love this idea! store your jewels in vintage teacups, bowls and saucers! images found via decor amor blog.

e) a simple and creative way to showcase your goods, found on apartment therapy.

f) emmett jewelry tree from pottery barn.

g) a very original way to store jewelry - literally turn it into a piece of art! image courtesy of reveling in the ordinary blog.

h) i adore the new lux jewelry box from west elm! available in a white or pool blue lacquered finish.

right now I have everything in a couple of shoe boxes. It's such a mess I almost never wear jewelry because I just can't look at it!

  5. I would love to find a good solution to this issue that I think about almost daily!

Overall I like the "tree" idea, because I want to be able to see everything, but it's just not big enough. I would ulimately need about 5-6 trees, but that just seems strange.

Please let us all know if you find a good solution!

  15. My collection has actually expanded beyond the cute pottery barn tree and anthro hooks where I keep things. I love that West Elm box and only wish it wasn't 89!

My fave is the drawer full of saucers and teacups---mostly because it would be an excuse to start a collection of pretty vintage cups!

  17. Love this post! I was lucky enough to stumble upon a great piece of manzanita wood with a ton of branches at a garage sale... the perfect organic display for the jewels.

Wow !I can't beleive you started a post on the question I asked you! I actually can't beleive you've answered my question. I'm smitten!
About the tree , yes I agree not very practical if you have loads of stuff like me , and the cups are cute but also require space ....I'm still thinking of it. I have alot of great stuff which I spent millions on , but I can't see them so they barely get used.

  19. I always keep my jewelry inside the jewelry box, and I don't want to see anybody what I have unless I put them on. If I had a store it would be great idea with the racks to show them.

  20. Like the rest, I love the tea cup idea! Of course, I'd still need more storage to hold the tea cups... I've always liked the idea of using vintage door knobs or cabinet pulls on the wall to hang necklaces.
