Shop Spotlight :: Uncommon Goods

I'm so excited to share with you a fabulous online shop called UncommonGoods! "UncommonGoods is an online marketplace offering creatively designed, high-quality merchandise at affordable prices. At UncommonGoods, we believe that creativity and the expression of individuality represent two great human treasures. We have set out to create a business that makes uncommon goods accessible to everyone." They focus on selling handmade, recycled and organic products by supporting independent artists to small manufacturers who create products in a more socially and environmentally responsible manner.

What I love most is their beautiful selection of unique jewelry - you're guaranteed to find something amazing, whether it's for yourself or as a gift to someone special. Many of the pieces they sell are handmade, like the sweet little diamond arrow necklace they so generously sent me (see below)! And if you're looking for personalized jewelry, they have many great options as well. I'm in LOVE with the custom baby footprint necklace and would adore wearing one with my baby's footprints (I'm due in August with baby #2!). Isn't it the sweetest thing? They also have one with hand prints.

I've rounded up some of my favorite pieces to share with you. Which ones are catching your eye? Click here to visit the shop, where they sell much more than just jewelry (like art, home goods, gifts...). Enjoy and happy shopping!

designed by mother and daughter team, Cindy and Avril Joffe. It's handmade with 18K gold vermeil, featuring a beautiful sparkly diamond at the head of the arrow. It was created to "inspire you to pave the way to your true north." I get so many compliments whenever I wear it! Handmade in the USA.

Etsy Shop Discovery :: Rebel by Fate

I love discovering new shops on Etsy, don't you?! Rebel by Fate had the bracelet (in the first photo) featured on the front page, which is how I ended up finding their fabulous little shop. The first thought that came to mind when viewing the personalized bracelet was, I'm going to order one of these with Luke's name (my 14-month old son and little love of my life!). Their tag line is Modern Handmade Bohemian Jewelry, which perfectly describes their unique collection of goods! What other Etsy shops are you loving these days?

New Discovery: Ex Voto Vintage

Today I'm excited to introduce an amazing company called Ex Voto Vintage! Ex Voto jewelry takes pieces discarded, left behind and forgotten, and revamps them, elevating them into one-of-a-kind jewelry statements. Founder and creative genius Elizabeth Adams is an artist that has always had an appreciation for antiques. "My appreciation of art, antiques, and blessings of encouragement are all represented in Ex Voto jewelry."

For those of you who have a weakness for unique vintage finds - whether it be furniture, clothing or jewelry - you'll definitely fall in love with this line. And I can tell you this first hand because a few weeks ago, a sweet little package arrived at my doorstep with the most beautiful necklace inside and a personal note from Elizabeth herself. As a thank you for her gift to me, I am sharing with you all how lovely Ex Voto Vintage is and truly hope you check out their shop! The entire collection is made in the USA and their gold-plating is 2-3 times the US standard thickness. Also, a portion of proceeds from all sales goes to The Cure Starts Now Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research!

Inspiration Snapshot: Jewlery Wall

I'm forever trying to find the best way to organize my jewelry, especially necklaces! I came across this fabulous photo on Apartment Therapy, originally from Lucky Magazine. Such a simple and artsy way to
organize and display your jewels so you can always see your options! I also noticed the small dishes filled with bracelets - another great idea. The styled perfume looks amazing. How do you organize your jewelry?

Jewelry Storage Issues Solved

I've blogged about creative ways to store and hang jewelry before - it seems to be an ongoing issue with me! I just can't seem to find a good way to store my necklaces without having them get tangled up or a way to display my earrings so I can see what I actually have. I stumbled across a bunch of jewelry stands, cute bowls, and figurines via Urban Outfitters and love the wide variety they offer. What do you you do with your jewelry? Please share any creative tips!

All of the above can be found via Urban Outfitters.

Storage Challenge: Jewelry

Raise your hand if you have a difficult time storing & displaying your jewelry so that it looks decent and you can actually see what you have without having to dig around and untangle a mess of metal! I currently have my necklaces hanging from an over-the-door towel rack on the back of my bathroom door...not exactly the classiest way to display my jewels! And my earrings and rings are crammed in an old jewelry box from the 7th grade! I did a little research to see what creative storage solutions are out there and found some DIY projects as well as ready-made jewelry displays. How do you store your jewelry? Please enlighten us if you have tips or any other creative ideas!

a) angel earring stand from lunares home; b) aluminum jewelry tree via uncommon goods; c) manzanita jewelry tree from lunares home.

d) love this idea! store your jewels in vintage teacups, bowls and saucers! images found via decor amor blog.

e) a simple and creative way to showcase your goods, found on apartment therapy.

f) emmett jewelry tree from pottery barn.

g) a very original way to store jewelry - literally turn it into a piece of art! image courtesy of reveling in the ordinary blog.

h) i adore the new lux jewelry box from west elm! available in a white or pool blue lacquered finish.

Enjoy browsing through all of her beautiful creations and be sure to visit her website to see much much more!
