A New Year & New Possibilities

Hello! I'm back in full swing today after a nice little "stay-cation" at home last week. It was wonderful to relax and take it easy for several days...but now I'm ready to put down the sweets & leftovers, put away my sweat pants and get back into full work / life mode. I feel refreshed and ready for new challenges, which leads me into a few of my New Year's resolutions. There's just something so exciting about starting a new year...the possibilities seem endless and I have a renewed energy that makes me feel like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. In a nutshell, here's a list of several things I'd like to focus on (in no particular order)...

  • Grow and expand my business & blog; offer lots more @ Modern Chic Home
  • Spend more time with family and friends; entertain more often
  • Get involved in a charity and / or volunteer program with my husband
  • Clean out my bedroom closet once and for all!
  • Save money
  • Ride bikes on sunny days
  • Get out more on the weekends
  • Make it a habit to have special "date nights" with my husband a couple times a month
  • Deliver a healthy and happy baby boy this Spring :)
I think this is a good start ;) What about you? Please share your goals, resolutions, dreams, etc! I'd love to hear what you have planned for 2012.

  1. I actually have a weekly date with my husband and my parents in law take care of our daughter, my goals are to increase my knowledge in home design (a course) and in entrepreneurship (reading and attending shows to understand it better), entertain more as part of being a social couple, dance ballet in the local theatre, and finish decorating the first floor of my home and my daughters bedroom. Happy new year!!

  2. Happy new year Julie.
    My goals are:
    1. Focus on my blog and all it entails including FB, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram
    2. To live by the saying "Gratitude turns what we have into enough" (I love beautiful things and always seem to want something new instead of appreciating the lovely things I already have, especially health, fabulous husband and children)
    3. To be more physically active (I don't like sports).
Here's to a great new year!

  5. I am so excited for you - sounds like a fabulous year is ahead of you! I want to lighten up the things I am holding on to these first couple of months, so that when July rolls around I will be able to move more easily - still deciding on the location, but it is time to move for sure to a place I actually enjoy - now need to decide if that is across the city to my favorite neighborhood, or to my favorite city across the country! I also want to do a better job of taking care of myself this year - so that I can better care for others as an overflow - and all around enjoy life more.
    Much love,
    B

  12. New Year means new resolutions. It's correcting the bad mistakes(yes, there are good mistakes) and making proper adjustments to do better in the coming year. Happy New Year 2012!

  14. You've written a great list. I've just started to blog, I cleaned out my closet yesterday and while my job as of today is not a dream, I've learn to make it my praise. I'm simply more thankful and taking charge, things I started right before the New Year!! Best wishes in all you do :)
