Window Love

I'm a huge fan of using simple side panels on windows. Drapery panels add warmth and texture to a space,  drawing the eye up from the rest of the room. If you have a spectacular view, even better! I believe window treatments should be kept simple and never be over-the-top (just say no to swags, fussy valances, tassels and fringe, etc.). The point is to frame the window with fabric, not cover or "decorate" the window into an oblivion. A great tip when hanging drapes: mount the rod as high as you can (leave just an inch or two to the ceiling); this creates height and a little drama, especially with low ceilings. Most people tend to mount the rod just above the window, which can leave the side panels to look a little sad and short. As for fabric, I love anything from a solid linen to a bold graphic print...it really depends on the the design of the space. Window treatments can definitely be an opportunity to create a "WOW" factor for a space, and they're also a great way to instantly update your decor without breaking the bank. Window Treatment Ideas: Side Panels

One of the easiest and affordable ways to add interest and warmth to a space is with window treatments. If you've been feeling like your space has been lacking something but can't quite put your finger on it, maybe a couple of drapery panels would do the trick! Personally, my favorite treatment for almost any space are simple side panels hung from a chunky wood or iron rod. The key in selecting a pair of panels is to keep the design simple...clean lines, no heavy fringe or fabric. The idea is to add texture, pattern, color, etc. to your space without completely covering up or taking away the actual view through the window. Just Say No to swags, heavy valances, balloon shades...you get the picture - nothing over the top! Here are some beautiful examples to get you inspired :)

Window Treatments

When it comes to window treatments, I like to keep the designs simple and elegant. I mostly use side panels which add just enough texture and fabric to soften a window. I also like roman shades. I'm not a fan of swags or valances or anything that obstructs the view beyond the window. Window treatments should enhance a window, not overpower or hide it. Here are some sensational ideas for dressing up your windows...
