Hello beautiful Belle Maison readers! It's Lou here, one half of the blogging duo from Lynn + Lou. I hope your week is going well. Today I am excited to share a go-to outfit that I frequently end up wearing.
I am in love with these bright sky blue skinnies. They are fun and colorful without being too bright and over the top. They have the perfect fit and I just love the skinny ankle.
I paired my skinnies with a basic graphic tee. Graphic tee's are my go-to on an "I don't know what to wear" day. I have far too many to count, but in my opinion, one can never have too many.
I topped everything off with my leather basket sandals, fringe vest, and I kept the arm candy simple with a few gold bracelets and my favorite over sized vintage La Mer watch.
This is definitely a go to outfit for me on any given day. And the best part, add a pair of boots and it transitions perfectly into Fall. Speaking of Fall, I just can't wait for it. I love the crispness in the air and the changing leaves. What is your favorite part of Fall?

Cheers!
Lou

Summer Love :: Fashionista Style
Hi guys! B. here from B. in the Know sharing what I'm loving for summer. With a new season, there always comes new trends. This is certainly true in the fashion world. Summer can bring out a free spirit in all of us. Even if we are headed to the office most of the week, style can be a more bold and free. As a new season starts and trends are discussed, there are always going to be a few that are loved by all and then there will also be a few that are a little more bold and out there. My rule of thumb with trends – find what works for you and your style. Never lose your voice for the sake of being trendy because your style always looks best, as that comes with your confidence, which is key to pulling off any look. Now, here are some of my favorite summer trends…
Florals – all over. On your pants, tops, rompers and dresses – they look pretty and fresh in a bold floral print. The best thing about this trend is each gal can find an amount that she feels comfortable in – whether it is head to toe or just a piece of the outfit. And it even works for the office! Now that is a perfect summer trend in my book.
All white. Summer is certainly the time to embrace whites, but this summer it is all about the all-white. I think every woman should give this a try, but the secret to this trend is you must be confident in your all white ensemble. I love how simple and sexy this trend is, and it can be styled to work for all stages of life.
Crop tops are everywhere this summer. This is one of those trends that's a little more out there, but it is certainly a cute one. I don’t think I will be wearing this to the office any time soon, but you better believe this will be part of my summer music festival attire.
Bikinis. With summer, there has to be a trend for the beach. This summer the trend is to go retro and wear a high waisted-bottom for your bikini. I personally love that it's a more modest take on a bikini – I'm all about a little more coverage.
Well, lovies, here is a quick snapshot into some of this year's hottest summers trends. And there's always more to talk about over at B. in the Know , so come on over for a visit!
Much love,
B

Trend Spotting: Faux Fur
The 2012 fall runways were filled with fabulous faux fur pieces, a must-have for this year's fall and winter seasons. Whether it be a fuzzy vest, beautiful coat or fur lined boots, a touch of faux fur in your wardrobe is essential! And as fashion and interior design often go hand-in-hand, the faux fur trend has carried over into home decor in the form of fluffy accent pillows and soft throws. I do love seeing a large plush throw casually draped on the back of a sofa or over the arm of a large comfy chair. If you're looking to cozy up your decor for the cooler months, why not start here? Just remember, a little goes a long way and be sure to stay away from "cheap" looking faux fur (think luxurious, not tacky!). I've gathered some great inspiration photos on how to pull this look off in your own home, along with resources on where you can purchase some fabulous pieces online. What do you think about this trend in fashion and /or home decor?

Street Style from Fall 2012 Fashion Shows
Photoblogger Tommy Ton shares his amazing photos with Style.com, where he captured the street style of those who have attended the 2012 Fall fashion shows. I'm loving all of the vibrant colors emerging in fashion and home decor! It's so much fun to see how people mix and match color and pattern in their wardrobes. There's a ton of color and style inspiration in each of these photos - my head is spinning with new design scheme ideas for future projects :). Click here to view the entire gallery.
I'm taking part of the day off today to get my nails done and do some shopping for the baby's nursery. My baby shower is tomorrow, which I can't believe! Time is flying by with this pregnancy, as I'm about to enter into my 8th month. I'll take lots of pictures of the shower and share them with you next week. Have a great weekend! xoxo - Julie

Runway Inspired Dining Room
This is one of my favorite blog post topics to cover! I love to search the latest looks from the runway and match them up with the appropriate interior and color scheme. Fashion is definitely a great place to look for inspiration when creating a new color scheme for a design project. Just take a pattern (such as the one from the dress below) and pull out maybe 3 - 4 colors from it to center your scheme around. It's always a good rule of thumb to start with a neutral "backdrop" for your space and build on that with layers of color, texture and pattern. Designing a room is a lot like putting together an outfit. You start with the main piece of clothing and build on that with coordinating colors, accessories, shoes, etc.
A cool palette of vibrant jewel tones set the scene for the dining space below. (Model / Dress Image Credit)
Neutral floors and furniture serve as a fresh backdrop for colorful accents like the light fixture, accessories and accent paint / wallpaper in the background. This dining room is absolutely gorgeous, don't you think?!

Party Dresses for the Holiday Season
I'm in New York for the week and am having a fantastic time so far :) I was invited to be a guest at a blogger event hosted by Bose, so my husband and I decided to make a mini-vacation out of it and flew in yesterday. I've never been to New York during the holiday season and it's absolutely magical!
Today's blog post is all about that fun little cocktail dress we all love to shop for in December. With holiday parties, Christmas, and New Years Eve, it's a great excuse to splurge on a new party dress (even though most of us probably have plenty of dresses in our closets we could wear...). Here's a round-up of some fun options (some affordable, and some not so much). What fun events are you looking forward to attending this month?!
